Hi Everyone, We will have recitation for Chem 233 this week. The recitation periods are Tuesday at 2:30 pm and Thursday at 2:30 pm in the Chemistry Learning Center. Unless a cancellation is announced in class or sent via email, you can expect recitation to be held every week for the duration of the semester. Attendance is not mandatory and will not be taken, but you can benefit from recitation in several different ways. 1. Office Hours - I will be in my office during the recitation period if you have any questions. 2. Extra Problem Solving Practice - When you come to recitation there will be a worksheet available for you to pick up. Once you have the worksheet you can sit down and attempt the problems. I will be around if you get stuck or have any questions. About mid-way through the period, I will provide an answer key so that you can check your work. Hi Everyone, As you know the second exam is Thursday evening from 7-8:30 pm. Room and seat assignments are the same as exam 1. You should bring something to write with, a photo ID, and a molecular model kit or some pre-built models if you wish. I also recommend you again review the Exam Instructions & Academic Integrity document - linked on the course website. The exam material is as follows: All of Ch 4 All of Ch 5 All of Ch 6 (except reaction energy diagrams) Ch 7: Degree of Unsaturation, Alkene E/Z, & Alkene Nomenclature OWL Homework on Chapters 4, 5, and 6 is due Wednesday (10/23) at 11:55 pm. During the recitation hours Tues. & Thurs. 2:30-3:20 pm, we will meet in Clark 104 for a review/question & answer session. Hi Everyone, I just wanted to remind you that Quiz 1 will be held during the last 10 min of class tomorrow. The quiz will cover all of Chapter 1 and formal charges from Chapter 2. I will include a periodic table on the quiz that you can look at. As with the practice quiz, the quiz tomorrow will be administered via TopHat. If you are using a mobile device, please be ensure you have the latest version of the TopHat app installed.
